About Spanwish LLC

Welcome to my website!  My name is Sarah and I founded Spanwish in 2012 to serve the Wisconsin community.  As a freelance interpreter, I assist legal professionals, healthcare providers and business people in their interactions with Spanish-speakers.

Background

I began using my knowledge of Spanish as a teenager when I became involved in an outreach program building houses in Mexican border towns.  Because I had the most Spanish-language ability out of everyone on the team, I became the de facto "interpreter" and through trial-and-error, I started learning the challenging task of facilitating communication.

After completing my bachelor's degree in 2007, interpreting became my career.  I began interpreting for hospitals, clinics and social services professionals.  The five years I spent as a full-time staff interpreter at a clinic gave me valuable experience and insight into the challenges an organization can face when serving individuals who have a limited understanding of English.

In 2009, I was ready to expand my knowledge base and obtained Wisconsin Court Certification.  Since then, I have interpreted for thousands of hearings, assisted numerous attorneys with their clients and been involved in high-profile trials.  Outside of court, businesses ranging from big-name manufacturers to local family farms have utilized my interpreting expertise.

I update my language skills constantly through continuing education courses and have built a reputation for accuracy and courteous service.
